Triton confirmed as speakers at UKCMG Forum in October

On the 13th October, UKCMG announced details of their upcoming forum.
Triton invites you to join us at 10 am on Wendesday 13th October for -  Pure Genius: How to get Mainframe-like scalability & availability for midrange DB2
This presentation will provide an introduction to pureScale, an overview of the architecture and will cover our own practical experiences of implementation. Triton will share with the audience experience and findings from the work in the labs and also our current R&D project.

Background information:

UKCMG (UK Computer Measurement Group) is a user group association of Information Technology professionals, the purpose of which is to exchange information about issues affecting the management, planning, performance and administration of computer systems, and to share expertise and experience if products , processes and services.

Triton Consulting's team of consultants are some of the mostly highly experienced and qualified in the industry, and are able to advise on the full range of IBM Information Management solutions including DB2 for z/OS, DB2 for LUW.

Recently, three of their DB2 experts spent five days at the IBM research and development centre in Boeblingen, Germany to carry out their own research into DB2 pureScale and were the first IBM Business Partners in Europe to see it in action.

Speakers:

Julian Stuhler - Solutions Delivery Director
Julian is a Principal Consultant with Triton Consulting, and has over 22 years relational database experience working in a number of clients within the insurance, telecommunications, banking, financial services and manufacturing sectors. In that time he has gained a significant amount of practical knowledge in many aspects of the IBM Information Management portfolio, including experience in application programming, Database Administration, technical architecture, performance tuning and systems programming.

Julian is an IBM Redbook author and IDUG Best Speaker, and has lectured widely on DB2 subjects, UK, Europe and US. This includes presentations for the International DB2 Users Group (IDUG), Candle Performance Seminars, BMC Seminars, and European GUIDE meetings. He is also a regular teacher for IBM throughout Europe.

In 1999 Julian was invited to join the IBM Gold Consultants programme, used to recognize the contributions and influence of the world's 100 leading database consultants. In May 2008, Julian was recognized as one of IBM's inaugural Data Champions - a program to recognize individuals for outstanding contributions to the data management community.

Julian joined the IDUG Board of directors in 2003 and is currently serving as the organization's Immediate Past President.

James Gill - Principal Consultant
James is a highly experienced Principal consultant with Triton Consulting.  He has over 20 years relational database experience working across a range of customers and industries.  James has specialised in data sharing on the mainframe and has also worked with DB2 LUW.  More recently, he has specialised in supporting large-scale implementations of SAP on DB2 for z/OS.  In addition to this James is running an R&D project into DB2 pureScale which as include him spending time in the IBM labs in Boeblingen, Germany.
