We are delighted to announce that James Gill has been selected by IBM to be one of their IBM Z Champions.
IBM define their Z Champions as ‘IT professionals, business leaders, developers, educators and influencers who demonstrate expertise and extraordinary support for IBM technology, communities and solutions.’
“This is the first time that IBM has named Z Champions and so we are thrilled that one of our DB2 Z experts has been included in this list. The Z Champions were nominated by their peers which makes this honour particularly meaningful” Carol Davis-Mann, Marketing Manager, Triton Consulting Ltd.
James Gill has been working on Z for about 30 years, starting on MVS and DB2 2.1 on 3090 600J machines. Now he focuses on client technology consultancy along with research and development using DB2 for z/OS.
A keen sailor in his spare time, when he’s not sailing on the Norfolk Broads James can be found working on Triton’s zPDT carrying out various R&D projects.
“It’s a really exciting time to be working on Z. We’re finding that a lot of customers want to talk to us about DevOps for mainframe development and delivery. Although this is a major culture-shift for many, the business benefits in terms of time-to-market are huge. I’m thrilled to have been named as an IBM Z Champion and I’m looking forward to continuing my work on Mainframe projects” James Gill, Principal Consultant, Triton Consulting.
The IBM Champion program runs across a range of technology areas including; Cloud, Storage, Power Systems, Z and many others. You can find out more about the program here.
