An early start after quite a late night at GSE UK and the conference dinner was excellent as usual.
The keynote presentation titled ‘Exploring the Future of Mainframe Modernization’ was given by Scot Nielson & Edward Marootian from Rocket Software joined by Colin Mower from Kyndryl. An interesting take on maximising the value of Legacy Systems.
Next, I attended the Db2 track, where Mark Radar discussed the five highest value features of Db2 V13, including at least one insight I had not previously considered. After that, I stayed to listen to Marcus Davage from BMC talk about reducing database development costs, a challenge we all face
Finally, I braved the anticipated terrible traffic on my way back to the West Country. Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable few days spent reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones while learning about the latest developments in the world of mainframes.
