An IBM Gold Consultant and an IBM Champion for Data Management, Iqbal Goralwalla has over 20 years of experience in all aspects of relational databases on the LUW platform. Iqbal is also a member of IBM’s Technical Advisory Board.
Iqbal is a highly experienced Data Management specialist, having been involved in all aspects of data including data architecture, strategy, design, modelling, development and administration. Iqbal has extensive project support and technical liaison experience within Db2 on LUW environments.
With a PhD in Computing Science from the University of Alberta, Canada, where he was a member of the Database Research Group Iqbal has also spent time working for IBM in their Toronto Labs (where Db2 on LUW is developed). During his four years there Iqbal worked on several versions of Db2 on LUW and published two IBM patents.
As well as leading the Database Services team, Iqbal is also an active Principal Consultant and is engaged with customers for short, focused assignments to help them with all Db2 issues.
Iqbal was a member of the IDUG European Conference Planning Committee for 5 years and served as the Conference Chair in 2016. He joined the IDUG Board of Directors in 2016 and has also served as the IDUG President in the past. In 2015, Iqbal was invited to join the IBM Gold Consultant program
