ZPARMs

Ensure consistency, best practices, and tailored settings for resilience and availability with the ZMARS Db2 for z/OS ZPARMs module.

ZPARMs Module

The ZMARS Db2 for z/OS ZPARMs module is intended to ensure consistency of system parameter settings across your data sharing group; that your ZPARM settings conform to recommended best practice; and that they meet your requirements, for example, for resilience and availability.

The Triton study team will produce an easily consumable report with prioritised findings and recommendations that are designed to improve operability, resilience and data integrity, where appropriate.

ZPARMs ZMARS

Why It Matters

Suboptimal ZPARM settings can have an adverse effect on resilience and data integrity. It is important to ensure your settings are consistent with your operational, behavioural and resilience requirements.

A subset of the system parameters should be consistent across the group, mostly for data integrity reasons.

Some system parameters are important for utility execution and incorrect or suboptimal settings can result in, for example, unexpected service availability issues.

Why Triton?

Our ZMARS study will be led by John Campbell, IBM Alumni, retired IBM Distinguished Engineer and previous leader of the Db2 for z/OS SWAT team. John has worked with Db2 for z/OS for over 40 years and has extensive experience in systems, database, and application design.

Triton’s ZMARS consultants are specialists with extensive technical expertise, dedicated to collaborating with C-level teams. Each of our ZMARS consultants brings over 30 years of experience with Db2.
