We are delighted to announce that three of our DB2 experts will be presenting at Europe’s largest DB2 event later this year. IDUG Europe will be held over 4 days from 14th – 17th October in Barcelona.
The International DB2 User Group (IDUG) is an independent organisation providing educational events, technical resources and peer driven-driven product training to it’s members. IDUG is all about community, with unique access to fellow users, product developers and solution providers, IDUG offers an expansive, dynamic technical support community for DB2 users across the world.
Mark Gillis, Senior Consultant at Triton Consulting, will be presenting on Row & Column Access Control (RCAC). This will be a great follow up to his hugely popular blog series RCAC Hints & Tips. This will be Mark’s first time presenting at IDUG.
"Having attended IDUG in the past as a delegate, I am excited and not a little apprehensive to be accepted as a presenter this year. Hopefully I can share some of the experiences I have gained recently with DB2, as well as undoubtedly learning more hints and tips from my peers and colleagues at IDUG Barcelona." Mark Gillis, Senior Consultant, Triton Consulting.
Like Triton’s services portfolio, the presentations at IDUG will cover both DB2 LUW and DB2 z/OS topics. Julian Stuhler, Solutions Delivery Director at Triton Consulting, is well known in the DB2 community for his excellent presentations and his status as an IBM Gold Consultant. We are delighted to announce that Julian has been invited to be a keynote speaker on Tuesday October 15th. Julian will be joining two other renowned IDUG speakers to talk about DB2’s past present and future.
Julian will also be sharing his knowledge about Memory Management in DB2 10 for z/OS. His presentation will describe the major storage-related changes introduced by DB2 10 and will provide practical advice on what and how to monitor in a DB2 10 for z/OS environment.
"Once again it looks like IDUG Europe is going to be a busy time for me! As a former IDUG President this event has been an important one in my schedule for many years and I’m honoured to have been invited to be a keynote speaker this year." Julian Stuhler, Solutions Delivery Director, Triton Consulting.
Alongside Julian in the DB2 z/OS track Paul Stoker, Sales and Marketing Director at Triton Consulting, will be presenting for the second year running. Performance Perils Prevented – How History Helps, will guide DBAs through the process of implementing an historical Performance Database and illustrates the value it can bring to the performance management process by using several real-world examples.
"I’m very happy to be accepted as a presenter at the IDUG EMEA Tech conference in Barcelona and am looking forward to catching up with friends and celebrating 25 years of IDUG" Paul Stoker, Director, Triton Consulting.
During the event there will also be special celebrations to mark the 30th anniversary of DB2. Triton Consulting will be holding their annual drinks reception at 8pm on Monday 14th October. Attendees at this popular reception will this year have the chance to pit their wits against fellow DB2 users in an online quiz. There will be winner and runner-up prizes plus the glory of being crowned the "Ultimate DB2 Geek Champion"!
