Triton’s Solution for Out of Support DB2 LUW Software

As IBM Premier Business Partners, Triton Consulting is in the process of making customers aware of the impending need to migrate their DB2 LUW software versions 9.1 and older.

We recognise that sometimes it’s necessary for organisations to remain on older, unsupported versions, but this can mean a considerable amount of risk should any problems arise.  To illustrate this, one of our partners, DBI Software, analysed which DB2 versions its viewers were using during a recent online DB2Night Show. What’s really worrying is that a startling 20% were on v8.2 or earlier.  Furthermore almost 20% of viewers were on version 9.1, which will also be out of support from 30th April 2012.

Migration is the ideal option but when this is impossible either due to budgetary, time or application constraints, we can provide you with an alternative.  ‘Consultancy on Demand’ is a great insurance policy for your DB2 database.  It’s available on all versions of DB2 including those which are officially out of support from IBM as per the dates above, meaning that you can still benefit from access to top DB2 skills should problems arise.

Available in packages of 20, 50 or 100 units (one unit equalling one hour of consultancy), you can call on support when you need it over the course of 12 months.  We recognise that users’ requirements are different and you may need help with carrying out a DB2 health check for example, or maybe you need a source of expertise for the tricky technical questions which often crop up with older versions.  Either way, the easy pre-purchasing of units means that help is both on tap and cost-effective.  Click here for more information.

Triton’s industry leading Remote DBA service is also available for older DB2 versions, providing round the clock support for all components of your DB2 infrastructure. Triton’s Remote DBA service offers the reassurance of stable, secure management for all components of a client’s DB2 infrastructure, without the associated staffing and technical issues.

Clients can choose from Remote DBA Office which provides support Monday-Friday during usual working hours or Remote DBA 24/7 for round the clock support.  Each package has a fixed monthly cost with no hidden extras.
